Hanoi (VNA) – Australia’sAnti-Dumping Commission (ADC) will not impose anti-subsidy duties on aluminiumextrusion and zinc coated (galvanised) steel imported from Vietnam, accordingto the trade defence department under the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry andTrade.
The ADC initiated the anti-dumping andanti-subsidy investigations into the products in August and October 2016.
The department said Vietnam was accused ofsubsidising aluminium businesses in three programmes relating to taxincentives.
Following the investigations, the ADC saidthat one of the three investigated Vietnamese companies did not receive anyincentives from the programmes.
The other two companies and otherproducers/exporters received subsidies but the margin was negligible, promptingthe ADC to end the subsidy investigation.
For galvanised steel, the ADC determinedthat the Vietnamese companies under investigation received subsidies from onlythree out of 19 programmes relating to tax and investment incentives, with theamount of subsidies also negligible.
The decision in favour of the Vietnameseside bodes well for future litigation related to trade defence.-VNA
