Airports to simplify passenger screenings

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has asked airports and airport authorities to combine security and customs checks for international passengers by the end of this year.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has asked airports and airport authorities to combine security and customs checks for international passengers by t𝔍he end of this year.

Lai Xuan Thanh, Head of the CAAV, has directed the Vietnam Airlines Corporation to co-ordinate with cities and provinces' customs departments and airport authorities to develop regulations to co-ordinate inspection and screening of passengers and baggage on international flights in the fourth quarter of this year. Airport authorities have been assigned to supervise the implementation of the airports that have international flights. According to the CAAV, the applying of general screening points at the airports with international flights is a part of Decree 92 on aviation security which takes effect on November 27, 2015.-VNA
