AIIB urged to support Vietnam’s infrastructure development projects
PM Chinh called on the AIIB to continue supporting Vietnam in mobilising resources for major projects such as Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong standard-gauge railway line. Rio de Janeiro (VNA) 🤪– Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Jin Liqun, President and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on July 6 (local time), on the sidelines of the expanded BRICS summit.
PM Chinh highly appreciated the contributions made by the AIIB and Jin himself over the past decade to Vietnam’s development. He affirmed that Vietnam values its partnership with the AIIB and will continue to actively participate in the bank’s suitable cooperation initiatives.
Sharing Vietnam’s current development orientations and policies, the PM emphasised the country's high priority on achieving economic growth of 8% in 2025 and sustaining double-digit growth in the following years.
Regarding strategic infrastructure development in the road and railway sectors, he called on the AIIB to continue supporting Vietnam in mobilising resources for major projects such as Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong standard-gauge railway line. Jin commended Vietnam’s remarkable socio-economic achievements in recent years and expressed his strong support for PM Chinh's proposals. He underscored the significance and ripple effects of large-scale infrastructure projects in enhancing connectivity, improving logistics capacity, and fostering socio-economic development across Vietnamese localities. These projects have also helped attract more high-quality investment into Vietnam, he said.
The AIIB President reaffirmed that the bank would continue to accompany and assist Vietnam in mobilising resources for key infrastructure projects, ensuring energy supply for high-speed rail operations, and participating in projects related to transport, healthcare, climate adaptation, power transmission, and energy transition in Vietnam and the region./.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is always ready to support Vietnam and has prepared a 5-billion-USD loan to start with supporting the counrty’s infrastructure development, and will further mobilise private sector financing and resources to support sustainable infrastructure development in the country, AIIB President Jin Liqun told the Vietnam News Agency on July 17.

Vietnam’s participation in AMNEX 3 demonstrates its commitment as a member of the ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting (ANCM) and responds to the invitation of the Royal Malaysian Navy, showing support for multilateral international activities hosted by Malaysia.
Since the two countries established their diplomatic ties in 1992, the bilateral relationship has become a model of a very special, effective, and substantive partnership.

He also welcomed the “Vietnam Private Sector Panorama” as a platform for dialogue, awareness-raising, and inspiring a wealth-creation movement, emphasising that it must deliver tangible results.
During a meeting on August 10 in Seoul with 100 representatives from the RoK’s intellectuals, associations, people’s organisations, businesses, and non-governmental organisations operating in Vietnam, Party General Secretary To Lam expressed his gratitude to Korean friendship, economic, cultural associations, universities, research institutes, individuals, and NGOs for their significant contributions to nurturing the Vietnam–RoK relationship.
