The Northwest Provinces Trade and Agriculture Fair and the 15th Vietnam International Agriculture Trade Fair (AgroViet 2015) will take place in September and November of this year, respectively. The Trade Promotion Centre of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) revealed in a press conference on August 19 that the two tradeshows aim to mark the 70th founding anniversary of the Ministry of Agriculture and 20th year of the MARD. The Northwest Provinces Trade and Agriculture Fair, themed “Linking value chains towards sustainable agriculture development” will be organised between September 23 and 27 in northwest Tuyen Quang province.
The fair provides a platform for trade promotion activities and the introduction of agriculture equipment and machinery as well as technological advances that improve agricultural productivity and safety. In addition, a workshop to review the effectiveness of the cooperation programme on agriculture production and distribution between Hanoi and northwest provinces will be held on the sidelines of the fair, Director of the Tuyen Quang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Tien Thang said. Meanwhile, AgroViet 2015 will take place from November 6-9 in Hanoi, featuring about 400 booths.
Themed “Enhancing the effectiveness of food processing and preservation”, it is an opportunity for businesses to promote their products and honour Vietnam’s high-quality farming, forestry, seafood and handicraft products. Advanced techniques and technology in agricultural production will also be introduced during the event. Only businesses with food hygiene and safety certificates will be eligible to attend the tradeshows and every product will be required to have labels that include information on its origin, Director of the Trade Promotion Centre of Agriculture Dao Van Ho noted. Visitors to the trade fairs will be introduced to “clean” agricultural products, he affirmed.-VNA
