- State President Luong Cuong chaired a meeting in Hanoi on June 20 to honour 150 veteran and outstanding journalists nationwide, a day before the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - 2025).

Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of its Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation Lai Xuan Mon delivered a report tracing the origin of Vietnam’s revolutionary press on June 21, 1925 when leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, later known as President Ho Chi Minh, founded Thanh Nien, a newspaper pivotal in laying the ideological and organisational groundwork for the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) established in 1930. - Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long joined delegates from 140 countries worldwide at the opening session of the 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEFT), themed “Shared Values: The Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World” in the Russian city on June 19.

Held in an open discussion format, the session fostered in-depth and substantive sharing of views on the forum’s main theme and emerging global challenges. Read full story

- Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien on June 19 held simultaneous online talks with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, as the two countries continue negotiations towards a reciprocal trade agreement.

- Vietnam will stage a first-ever sea parade with ships and squads from the Navy, Coast Guard, Fisheries Surveillance, and Naval Air Force to mark its National Day on September 2, announced Politburo member, Vice Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defence Gen. Phan Van Giang.

The show, together with a grand parade to be held silmutaneously at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, the National Day, and the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), he said while chairing a meeting with press agencies in Hanoi on June 19, just before the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).
