ACMECS ministerial retreat on tourism cooperation held in Vietnam

The tourism ministers of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, Myanmar’s Deputy Minister of Tourism and the Thai Ambassador to Vietnamparticipated in the retreat, together with leaders of the four Mekongcity destinations of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Phnom Penh inCambodia, Yangon in Myanmar and Vientiane in Laos.
The officials agreed that in the 12 months of implementing the ACMECSjoint statement on tourism cooperation, the five countries’ nationaltourist offices had intensified their collaboration and supported eachother at international tourism fairs.
They alsocarried out numerous measures to facilitate trans-border touristcrossings. Cambodia and Thailand provided joint visas to touristscoming from other ACMECS countries, while low-cost carriers launched newflights to destinations in the region.
Delegates stressed the need to further boost cooperation and worktowards a joint ACMECS visa zone under the slogan “Five nations - Onedestination”.-VNA
The festival marks a significant milestone in promoting the brand, value, and legacy of traditional fish sauce - a product deeply rooted in the island’s identity and history spanning over 200 years.

The participation of H&M, one of the world's largest fashion corporations, in Vietnam International Sourcing 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City in early September is considered a special highlight, opening up many cooperation opportunities for Vietnamese businesses in the fashion, textiles and sustainable supply chains.
