95 years of Vietnam’s Communist Party: Big opportunities for a new era

Vietnam aims to become an upper-middle-income country with modern industry by 2030, and a high-income developed nation by 2045. These goals reflect the CPV’s and the Vietnamese people’s aspirations to strengthen their international role, enhance living standards, and establish the country as a major economic and political power.

Rome (VNA) – Stefano Bonilauri, Director of Anteo Edizioni Publishing House in Reggio Emilia, Italy, has underlined big opportunities for a new era - the era of Vietnam's rise under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

The founding of the CPV in 1930 marked a turning point in the Vietnamese people's struggle for independence, freedom and prosperity, Bonilauri said in a recent interview with the Vietnam News Agency (VNA)’s correspondents in Rome on the CPV's 95th founding anniversary (February 3, 1930 – 2025).

Under the guidance of Ho Chi Minh Thought and principles of Marxism-Leninism, the Party united the entire nation, pushing forward efforts toward national liberation and prosperity.

According to him, the Party’s success in uniting the nation under the guidance of Ho Chi Minh Thought and principles of Marxism-Leninism, mobilising collective efforts toward national liberation and building an equitable and prosperous society.

He emphaised throughout its history, the CPV has demonstrated its leadership, adapting to evolving circumstances and guiding the nation through challenging periods, from the victory of the August Revolution in 1945 to the country's reunification in 1975, and during the 'Doi moi' (Renewal) process.

He highlighted that since launching “Doi Moi” in 1986, the CPV has shown strategic foresight and determination to promote modernisation, economic growth, and living standard improvement of the Vietnamese people. These reforms have transformed Vietnam from an underdeveloped economy into a globally recognised dynamic model. At the same time, the Party has prioritised anti-corruption efforts to enhance transparency, efficiency and public trust. The recent administrative apparatus streamlining toward building a strong, efficient system reflects the Party's determination to address structural challenges and improve state effectiveness.

In the coming time, Vietnam stands on the threshold of the new era, supported by a ambitious long-term vision. Vietnam aims to become an upper-middle-income country with modern industry by 2030, and a high-income developed nation by 2045. These goals reflect the CPV’s and the Vietnamese people’s aspirations to strengthen their international role, enhance living standards, and establish the country as a major economic and political power.

Vietnam’s young workforce, growing digital transformation momentum, agricultural and industrial potential, and strategic position in the Asia-Pacific region provide a solid foundation for future development. However, challenges such as climate change, regional inequality, and global economic uncertainties require sustained innovation, sustainable development, and social cohesion.

🍌 With its proven resilience and strategic vision, the CPV is well-positioned to guide Vietnam toward a prosperous, modern, and proud future, according to Bonilauri./.
