The 15th National Assembly on October 21 elected Politburo member Luong Cuong, standing member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and 15th NA deputy as the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 tenure.

The 15th-tenure National Assembly (NA) elected Luong Cuong as President of Vietnam for the 2021 - 2026 term at its ongoing 8th session on October 21.

The 8th session of the 15th National Assembly adopted a resolution on the election of Luong Cuong, Politburo member, Permanent member of the 13th-tenure Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, and NA deputy of the 15th tenure, as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021 - 2026 term.

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien presented a report on constituents’ opinions and recommendations sent to the 15th-tenure National Assembly (NA)’s sixth session at its opening sitting held in Hanoi on October 23.
