14th National Assembly’s fourth session scheduled for October 23

Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly SecretaryGeneral Nguyen Hanh Phuc chaired a press conference in Hanoi on October 20 toannounce planned agenda for the fourth session of the 14th legislature slatedfor October 23.

The session will last 26 days and wrap up on November 24,during which legislators will consider important socio-economic goals for eachyear and subsequent years and decide on personnel issues.

They are to adopt six draft laws, 12 draft resolutions andgive opinions on nine other bills, including the revised Law on Public DebtManagement, the amended Law on Forest Protection and Development, the revisedLaw on Fisheries, the Law on Planning; resolutions on socio-economicdevelopment, State budget estimate and allocation for 2018, among others.

NA Vice Secretary General and Vice Chairman of the NA OfficeLe Bo Linh said the NA will spend 15 days on discussing and deciding on severalimportant issues of the country such as the government’s reports onsocio-economic development in 2017 and 2018, State budget estimate andallocation for 2018, crime prevention and control, settlement of complaints anddenunciations in 2017, and another three days on question and answer sessions.

As scheduled, 11 out of 26 working days on 13 contents willbe televised nationwide, two of them regarding the implementation of nationaltarget programme on gender equality and the settlement of complaints anddenunciations of citizens which will be tabled for discussion for the firsttime at the NA’s plenary session.-VNA
