Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired a working session ofthe 13th National Party Congress’s sub-committee on socio-economicaffairs in Hanoi on April 23 with the participation of leaders of Hanoi and 12other localities.

Helauded efforts made by the localities in implementing the socio-economicstrategy, saying they have paid attention to social welfare, educational,cultural and sport development, and environmental protection during economicdevelopment.

Theirdevelopment policies have been better aligned with the market economy, he said,highlighting changes in rural, mountainous and urban areas as compared with tenyears ago, along with maintained national defence and security in thelocalities.

He,however, pointed out bottlenecks in these localities regarding law enforcement,cumbersome apparatus, and problems in policies, reform and decentralisation.

ThePM required the localities to report on the application of new productionmodels with high efficiency, along with bottlenecks and outstanding problems indevelopment.

Heurged participants to make recommendations on adjusting mechanisms that canfacilitate higher growth.

PMPhuc said outcomes of the working session will serve as a foundation for thesub-committee to complete the draft socio-economic development strategy for2021-2030 and the 2021-2025 socio-economic development plan, to be submitted tothe Party Central Committee for consideration.

The 13th National Party Congress is scheduled forJanuary 2021, the year marking the 35th anniversary of the Doi Moi (Reform) andthe 10-year implementation of the 2011-2020 socio-economic development strategy.-VNA
